Deer Mountain Inn

Every aspect of staying at Deer Mountain Inn is great. It would get a 5 star review simply for the location, rooms, and amenities, but the service is bar none. Truly felt so taken care of everywhere we went and it’s because of their attention to detail and wanting to be nice. This was the perfect cozy “clear your head” getaway. If you go to the restaurant, have the sourdough and also the ice cream sundae.

We booked a 2-night stay in January in one of the cabins. Although we live only 30 minutes away, it felt like a true escape. The location/landscape is really beautiful, and the cabin and Inn itself incredibly cozy and comfortable. We hiked the trails on property with our dog and hung out in the Attic playing board games and sitting by the fire. The Attic was my favorite part, because you feel like you’re staying over at someone’s chic but super welcoming home. Other guests would come in wearing socks to play pool or watch movies and the whole experience feels very intimate and easy, but still elevated. Service was warm, approachable and friendly; dinner was great. We can’t wait to come back to experience it in spring!

I should mention that we are locals and did not stay the night at the inn. Hands down the best dining experience I've ever had. While the food was pricey, you are paying for nothing but quality. All of the dishes were thoughtfully arranged, with complementary flavors and colors. The steelhead trout and roe was delightfully refreshing, while the wagyu was decadently rich. And the sourdough... I understand why it's the most popular appetizer, because it is the most delicious bread I personally have ever consumed. Paired with the tahini dip, I had to stop myself from spoiling my dinner! After we boxed up our leftovers, they even gave us a little madeleine treat to complete the meal. The views are great, the atmosphere is cozy cabin, they have a polite and knowledgeable staff, and the wine and cocktails are fantastic. My only gripe on the beverage front would be the lack of draft beer. The best part though, was that I told them ahead of time that we were celebrating an engagement, and they went out of their way to make us feel special. Many congratulations, some bubbly, and the waiter even asked to see the ring, which had my fiance practically blushing with excitement! Very special dinner experience for my bf and I before we left upstate. Peaceful atmosphere, nice staff. Our waiter Stephen was amazing, he is very polite, paying attention with details and serve us with perfect timing. The sourdough is the best sourdough we’ve ever had. I miss it so much! Wine and cocktails are very refreshing. Stephen gave us recommendations which fit what we want perfectly. The fish is delicious and the sesame ice cream is a must have too! We definitely will come back again.

The building, atmosphere, service, view, food and drink - everything is top tier. Our server started us with complimentary champagne when we mentioned it was our anniversary. The sourdough focaccia is out of this world. Possibly the best bread I've ever eaten. The burger and trout were phenomenal. 10/10.

Absolute gem. We brought our small dog, and the staff was beyond sweet to him. Gorgeous grounds, and the restaurant is worth the trip alone. Truly outstanding. We'll be back!

This is for the restaurant specifically. About 6 months ago my girlfriend and I spent the weekend in the area and decided to stop in for a drink. We enjoyed a cocktail each and went on our way. We’ve since returned 3x and have fallen in love with the establishment. Kiya (might be misspelled) has made us feel right at home. As he reviews the menu with us, his knowledge and excitement come alive. He clearly has a passion for the hospitality and culinary arts. During our last visit excitedly described his favorite dish, a green bean medley, that we would never had tried if not for his suggestion and it was divine! While some of the staff are friendlier than others, all seem to focused on enhancing the patron’s experience. The ambiance is unparalleled. Classic log cabin style with roaring fires. Quiet, but fun and inviting environment. Looking forward to our next visit!

We had the most incredible meal. The sourdough and different spreads were especially wonderful and special. But what really made the evening so perfect was our server Steven! He was kind, charming, and such a delight. Thanks for being the biggest sweetie of all time Steven 3
